The Best Small Business Blogs for 2019

There are so many business blogs out there that are just SOOOO good, ya know? So deliciously yummy good. It’s hard to tell sometimes which ones are worth the time and bandwidth it takes to read them. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up a few of the best small business blogs you might just want to add to your reading list.

Here they are, in no particular order:

Let’s look at them one at a time, shall we?

Buffer

Buffer is THE software you want if you are doing ANYTHING with social media. And their blog is pretty good for anyone using social media, too. Small business owners can learn how to best use Facebook, working with Influencers, navigating Instagram, and more importantly, how to analyze what your social media data is telling you. For small business owners engaged in social media marketing, Buffer’s blog is invaluable.

DIY Marketers

My Twitter pal, Ivana Taylor, founded DIY Marketers to help small business owners on a small budget tackle overwhelm and burnout. Sound like anybody you might know? Everything DIY Marketers does is designed with you, the limited-budget, stressed-out, drowning in confusion, small business owner, in mind. On her business blog, you can learn about email marketing, social media marketing, content creation, and a bunch more. And perhaps best of all, she hosts the Twitter chat for small biz owners, #BizapaloozaChat, every Monday afternoon at 2pm EST.

Small Biz Daily

It’s the WSJ for Main Street. Really. Their business blog publishes articles on finance, management, women in business, tech, marketing, sales, and pretty much everything you, the small business owner, is looking for in the way of valuable info. And they live up to their name, with new articles every day. Put down the paper and pick up the Small Biz Daily.

Duct Tape Marketing

Another business blog by another colleague of mine. And a really good one, too. The guys at Duct Tape Marketing have a philosophy that not everyone has the time or resources for marketing. They publish tips and tricks, quick and easy ways you can improve things like lead generation and SEO. They review marketing tools and strategies. And they even have a podcast in case reading isn’t quite your thing.

What About Bloomers?

Yes, please read the Bloomers blog. Make it a weekly habit. And I will be the first to tell you that the four business blogs listed in this article are on MY reading list, weekly if not daily. Why? Because NONE of us ever know it all.

I learn so much from others, as I hope you learn from me. There’s a saying about needing a village to raise a child. Remember it? I’m a firm believer that it takes a village to grow a business, too. We’re all in this together, and we not only should, but MUST learn from each other and lean on each other. So, while I love teaching and connecting you, my Blooms, I’m also learning from and reaching out to others, too. So, yes, please read this here little old business blog. I promise you we’ll try our best to fit in with the rest on this list.

Introducing the Main Street Marketer Program

We’ve started something new here at Bloomer’s Marketing in the hopes of helping more small businesses bloom, grow, and change their world.

We call it the Main Street Marketer Membership. It’s designed for the small business and its marketing needs.

It’s what a good friend of mine calls “call girl” marketing. And no, we haven’t slipped over into illegal activities here at Bloomers. But it is a sort of appropo description for the program

It is marketing services based on TIME. So, just like a call girl, how much you pay is based pretty much on how much time you want to utilize our small business marketing services.

Main Street Marketer has two components: consulting, and then services. It’s designed for the small business who maybe doesn’t quite know what they need. Or who doesn’t need the same thing every month. Or who wants to inexpensively TRY different things to see which ones work best.

Main Street Marketer also allows a small business to get professional marketing services without paying a hefty fee. (We’ve always said we were in this to make a living, not a killing.) So, for a much smaller fee than most marketing agencies would charge, the Main Street Marketer program allows you and your small business to afford professional advice and services.

Main Street Marketer is designed to create a way for your small business to grow and flourish without breaking the bank. It’s designed to give you the guidance and advice you need to know where to go next. How to get unstuck and get you moving forward. And how to keep you moving that way.

We invite you to check out the Main Street Marketer program page here on the website. And to contact us if you have any questions.

It doesn’t matter if your Main Street is in your home office, a big city, in a small town, or even on a different continent. If you own a small business, you can become a Main Street Marketer, too.
