Bloomers Marketing, Giving Back, and Our Mission
I alluded to something big that Bloomers Marketing was contemplating a while back. That decision has been made, and I’m really excited to be talking about it with you today! Starting right now, Bloomers is going to have giving as part of our business model. Now, we can’t do a one-to-one like Blake Mycoskie and TOMS shoes, but we CAN do our part, and it’s two-fold.
First, the “business” part of this whole “giving” thing…our mission has always been based on giving every small business the help it needs, but we’ve admittedly floundered as to what FORM that help would take. And then I got inspired by Jeff Goins of goinswriter.com to distill our “message” down into one succinct, decisive statement. Our mission statement. Our public declaration of how we will be giving that help to businesses…
Every business deserves to have their message shared with the right audience through quality content marketing both online and off.
There. That’s it. We’re committing ourselves to helping you do the following:
- Identify your message
- Formulate your message into one succinct, decisive, strong statement
- Identify your ideal audience
- Create, or help you create, a content marketing strategic plan
- Create, or help you create, the right content for that audience, tat meets the objectives in your strategic plan
That’s it. That’s what we’re here to do. Now, whether or not you need us to do all that for you is up to you. But that’s what we’re here for.
Now, to the “giving back” part of the “giving” business model…
I’ve always found Heifer International to be a worthy cause. They do not give based on religion affiliation. They do not give based on gender or race or nationality. They give solely based on need. And they don’t give hand outs, either. They give “hand ups”.
They teach people how to help themselves and their families by starting agribusinesses. Through gifts of flocks of chickens or ducks, a goat, a brace of rabbits, even seeds, seedlings, and fish, Heifer International helps people learn to support themselves, their families, and increase the quality of life for all those around them.
And then there’s the whole “empowering women” thing they do…yeah, that appeals to us BIG time. And it’s backed by research. By elevating women out of poverty and hunger, entire villages can be elevated. Lives can be improved. Real change can be made.
With that in mind, I’m proud to announce that Bloomers Marketing will be giving 10% of every fee paid to us to Heifer International. We’ll even give it in your name or that of your business, if you’d like. You can peruse their online catalog of gifts and even choose the gift you’d like us to give on your behalf.
When we help each other up, every one wins. And yes, Heifer works right here in the good ol US, through Heifer US, so we really ARE neighbors helping neighbors.
Heifer International has a focus on local – local businesses, local leadership, local change. We like that aspect of things, too. Locals giving help to locals. Small businesses reaching out to make a change in their communities. YOUR community may not be OUR community, but we’re all just the “little guys” trying to make a real difference, right?
